کامیابی کی کنجی ۔ قیادت یا تعلیم

ترکی میں 1923ء سے لے کرگزشتہ 85سال میں طیب اردگان کے آنے پر ہی روشنی کی کرن نظر آئی۔


جنوبی افریقہ میں تعلیم سے محروم پسماندہ سیاہ فام اکثریت کوامید کی کرن اس وقت نظر آئی جب نیلسن منڈیلا بر سر اقتدار آئے۔


سنگاپور جو 1962ء میں مچھیروں کا چھوٹا سا جزیرہ تھا جہاں نہ سکول تھے، نہ کالج اور نہ ہی یونیورسٹیاں مگر لی کووآن ان کے لئےروشنی کی کرن لےکر آئے۔


ملائشیا مہاتیر کے روپ میں روشنی کی کرن دیکھنے تک سیاسی اور نسلی فسادات سے نبرد آزما رہا۔


سوویٹ روس کے پاس اعلیٰ تعلیم کی وجہ سے امریکہ کی ٹکر کی سائنس اور ٹیکنالوجی تھی مگر وہ ٹکڑے ٹکڑے ہو کر سرنگوں ہو گیا۔ موجودہ روس کا حجم سوویٹ روس جتنا نہیں مگر اس نے ایک سُپر پاور سے جنم لیا تھا جس کی کرنسی دنیا کی کمزور ترین کرنسی تھی اس کو بھی اس وقت روشنی کی کرن دکھائی دی جب پیوٹن نے اقتدار سنبھالا۔ روس میں تعلیم کا معیارپیوٹن کے آنے سے پہلے اور اب بھی سوویٹ روس جیسا ہی ہے۔


سری لنکا، مالدیپ، سپین، یونان اوربنگلہ دیش جیسے ممالک کی شرح خواندگی بہت بلند سہی مگر ان کی قیادتوں کا احوال وہی ہے جو اوپر کی مثالوں میں بیان کیا گیا۔


پاکستان میں صرف ایوب خان کا عہد سنہرے دور کے طور پر جانا جاتا ہے۔ ہماری تاریخ میں یہ دور علم کا دور تھا۔ فوجی آمریت کے طعنے کی آڑ میں حقائق کے اعداد و شمار تبدیل نہیں کئے جا سکتے۔


دنیا کی تعلیم یافتہ ترین امریکی سوسائٹی بھی ٹرمپ جیسے لیڈر کو منتخب کر لیتی ہے۔


بسا اوقات تعلیم کی اہمیت جتانے کے شوق میں ہم حدود سے تجاوز کر جاتے ہیں۔ یہ تو ایسے ہےجیسے کوئی زندہ رہنے کے لئے آکسیجن کی اہمیت بیان کرتے ہوئے اتنے ہی ضروری خوراک اور پانی جیسےعناصر کو نظر انداز کر دے۔ٹھیک ہے کہ آکسیجن کے بغیر آپ سیکنڈوں میں جاں بحق ہو سکتے ہیں مگر خوراک اور پانی کے بغیر بھی آپ چند دنوں میں جان ہار سکتے ہیں۔


یہ بجا کہ تعلیم کسی بھی معاشرے کی مضبوطی اور استحکام کی بنیاد ہوتی ہے مگر صرف مضبوط بنیاد کسی عمارت کی مضبوطی کی ضامن نہیں ہوتی۔ہم نے اپنی زندگی میں بہت سی بے آباد ،نامکمل اور نیم تیار عمارتوں کے ڈھانچے دیکھے ہوں گے۔ ان کی بنیادیں مضبوط سہی مگر انتظامی مسائل کی وجہ سے یہ نشوونما نہ پاسکیں۔


سیانے کہتے ہیں کہ جب آپ کسی معاملے پر الجھن کا شکار ہوں تو معاملے کی تہہ میں جائیں آپ کو اپنی مشکل کا حل مل جائے گا۔


ہماری قیادت کی بنیاد کا تعلق حضرت محمدﷺ سے ہے۔ آپ ﷺ نے ایسی قوم کی رہنمائی فرمائی جو نہ صرف غیر تعلیم یافتہ تھی بلکہ جاہل اور غیر مہذب بھی تھی۔نبی اکرم ﷺ نے نہ صرف اس قوم کی قیادت کی بلکہ اس کو ترقی، خوشحالی، علم اور تعلیم سے بھی روشناس کرایا۔اس طرح مرغا پہلے یا انڈہ پہلےوالی پہیلی کی طرح قیادت اور تعلیم کی اہمیت کے مقابلے کی بحث ختم ہو جانی چاہئے۔قیادت کی مثال سے تو قانون قدرت کا اظہار ہوتا ہے کہ اللہ تعالیٰ نے اندھیروں میں روشنی کا نزول فرمایا۔ اس میں دلچسپ بات یہ ہے کہ اندھیرے میں روشنی زیادہ واضح دکھائی دیتی ہے۔


تاریخ شاہد ہے کہ پیغمبروں سے لے کر فوجی رہنماؤں، سیاست دانوں اور کاروباری اکابرین جیسے قائد ہی ہمیشہ قوموں کی قسمتیں بدلتے رہے ہیں۔


قیادت اور تعلیم میں امتیاز کرنے میں ہماری کوتاہی اور ان دونوں کی اہمیت پرہماری غلط فہمی کی وجہ یہ حقیقت ہے کہ شریف اور زرداری کے پھیلائے سٹیٹس کو کی وجہ سے ہماری سوچ جامد ہو چکی ہے۔اس لئے ہم یہ جاننے سے قاصر ہیں کہ جب تک شریف برادران اور زرداری
جیسے لوگ ہمارے لیڈر ہوں گے ہمارا معاشرہ تعلیم کی روشنی سے محروم رہے گا


ایک مشہور مقولہ ہے کہ شیر کی قیادت میں پلنے والابھیڑوں کا گلہ شیروں کے اس جھنڈ سے زیادہ طاقتور ہوگا جس کی قیادت کوئی بھیڑ کر رہی ہو۔


شائد کسی دن ہم بھی سری لنکا کی مانند پڑھی لکھی بھیڑ بن جائیں۔ لیکن ہم اس وقت تک سنگاپور، ملائشیا یا ترکی نہیں بن سکتے جب تک ہم اردگان، مہاتیر اور لی کووآن جیسے رہنما تلاش نہیں کر لیتے۔





Key to success. Leadership or Education

Turkey, In last 85 years since 1923, got ray of light when Tayyip Erdogan arrived.


South Africa, with black majority backward & without much education, saw ray of light when Mandela came.


Singapore in 1962, was a small island of fishermen did not have schools & colleges or Universities but Lee Kuan brought ray of light.


Malaysia, experimented with political & ethnic turmoil till Mahathir arrived to show ray of light.


Soviet Union matched science & technology of America which means top education, yet it collapsed & broke into pieces. Russia not as big as Soviet Union but taking birth out of a super power with Ruble as weakest currency of world, saw ray of light when Putin took reign. Education level of Soviet Union and Russia was same before and after Putin.


Sri Lanka, Maldives, Spain, Greece, Bangladesh are countries of very high literacy rate but lack the leadership like above examples.


Only Golden period of Pakistan was under Ayub Khan. It’s a matter of knowledge of our history. Denying the facts under the sarcasm of military dictatorship will not change statistics of history.


Most educated society of world, America could still elect Trump as leader.


While emphasising importance of education, we sometimes go overboard. For example, if some starts emphasising importance of oxygen for survivability , and forget equally important water & food. Yes without oxygen you will die in seconds and without food & water, you will die within days.


Education is the foundation of a stable & strong society but developing a strong foundation does not guarantee a strong building. In our lives, We must have seen many strong half built deserted & incomplete buildings, they had good foundation but still could not flourish for governance issues.


Wise people say when you go unclear on some subject, go to basics, you will find the answer.


Our basics is Prophet Mohammad. Prophet Mohammad led a society which was not only uneducated but ignorant and uncivilised, prophet led this dark society to progress, prosperity, knowledge & education. This should kill the discussion on comparing leaders & education with chicken & egg example. This explains nature,even Allah brought light in darkness. Interestingly, light is most visible in darkness.


Fate of nations have changed by leaders starting from prophets to military leaders to politicians to corporate leaders.


Our inability to distinguish between leadership and education or getting confused between leadership & education is due to the fact that our mindset is stuck with status quo of Nawaz Sharif & Zardari which does not want to accept the very fact that education will never come to this society if the society is led by leaders like Sharifs & Zardari.

“A flock of sheep led by a lion is more powerful than a flock of lion led by a sheep” explains all above.


We might one day become an educated sheep like Sri Lanka but we will not become Singapore or Malaysia or Turkey till we find Erdogan, Mahathir or Lee Kuan.
